Made from a gel formation which is designed to mould around your area of pain, ice packs are an integral part of acute injury management. Icing can assist your recovery by minimising swelling and inflammation. Ice assists your recovery by decreasing blood flow by constricting you capillaries (Vasoconstriction). In doing so, this decreases the pressure in the area which allows for the healing process to begin.
Ice packs are great to use in the first 72 hours for injuries such as;
